Best "Found Family" Moment

I’m posting discussion starters! Next one is: The In Death series is as much about family as murder.

What scene best represents Eve finally realizing she has a family?

Let us Know!

Mine is in New York to Dallas after the worst is over. Eve looks around and realises that all these people—Roarke, Peabody, Feeney, Mira, Whitney, Summerset, Mavis, Nadine—aren’t there out of duty.

They’re there because she belongs to them, and they belong to her.

For a woman who started Naked in Death convinced she could rely only on herself, that quiet realization is, to me, the emotional heart of the entire series. It’s the moment the “found family” theme fully comes home.

Also, can’t remember the book, but when Summerset is injured, I think the 3 of them realise they’ve created a family

Both of those are great examples. But also, with Portrait in Death when Summerset was injured, it wasn’t just the 3 of them (Summerset, Eve, Roarke) but also Mavis who came over a couple of times, and one of those times she had Trina give him a facial. :joy: It was fun to see all of them come together for Summerset.

I think one of my favorites is Promises in Death where all “The Smart Girls” all find themselves in Eve’s office after Louise’s bridal shower and they work on solving the case together. Such a huge thing for Eve to let all the civilians help and its such a sign of how she has changed and her chosen family has grown.

@JulieP YES!! This is one of the best scenes in the entire series, IMHO. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
