I thought it might be fun to re-visit some of the questions from our “In Death” Playlist episode, so this is the first one: Name a Song You Would Want Mavis to Cover.
For those of you who are Patrons, one of our recent “Briefing Room” episodes I talked about how I would like to see Mavis cover “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness.
What’s your pick?
Oh, this is a fun one, because we all know Mavis wouldn’t just sing a cover. She’d take a song, dismantle it, throw neon glitter over the pieces, add a bass line that probably violates several New York noise ordinances, and somehow make it brilliant.
My number one pick:-
- “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” — Shania Twain — Hear me out.
Mavis doing futuristic cyber-country would be magnificent. Eve would be horrified. Peabody would love every second.
